How do I start using your service?

You can choose to open an account within our website by clicking the login button on the upper right corner of your screen or should you wish to do this later, you can send your prescriptions to us straight away to start using the service.

For prescription medicines: There are 3 ways to send your prescriptions to PillDrop:

  1. Tell your doctor to email or fax your prescription to PillDrop.

  2. If you have the physical paper prescription with you, simply take a photo and send it to us.
  3. We can also request a new prescription from your doctor on your behalf.

For over the counter medicines: Simply shop as you normally would and we deliver your order nationwide.

What if my medication changes? What do I need to do?

Firstly, please send us your new prescription so we can get your new medication to you as soon as possible. Your new medication will be sent to you in a bottle till your current supply finishes, and then it will be automatically included in your next roll of Pill Sachets. We offer same-day delivery within Auckland and overnight anywhere else in New Zealand. If you have any concerns, call us on freephone 0800 745 537

I need a new prescription from my doctor

No problem. We are happy to work with your doctor and request a prescription on your behalf to ensure you always have the medication you need.

Switching to PillDrop Pharmacy

To start using our service. We will need your prescription sent to us.

Sending your prescriptions to PillDrop Pharmacy is easy. This can be done either from your doctor or from yourself.

It is important to let your doctor know that PillDrop is your preferred pharmacy. They can send your prescriptions to us directly using the following info either:

PillDrop is also available on all E-prescription portal used by GPs, specialists, and public hospitals.

If you have the physical paper prescription with you, you can take a photo of it and send to us.

Once, we received your prescriptions, we will contact you to go through everything needed to set up your first PillDrop delivery.

First, let us know your medication needs and schedule. Our pharmacist will work with you to understand your prescription requirements. Our system will ensure your prescriptions are delivered to your doorstep without interruption, so you never miss a dose.

Schedule Recurring Orders

You have the option to schedule recurring orders for your prescriptions. This means you won't have to remember to reorder your medications; they'll arrive on time as per your schedule. You can select how often your medications needs to be delivered – whether it's weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, or another interval that suits your needs.

Do you offer adherence packaging or pill organizers to help me manage my medications more effectively?

Yes, ofcourse. Your medication is packaged in a roll of easy tear, waterproof and food safe Pill Sachets. Each packet are clearly labelled with the date and time of medication administration. The labels will be legible and easy to read, making it simple for you to identify the contents of each packet. The clear labelling and organised layout make it simpler for you to remember and take the right medications at the right time, reducing the likelihood of missed doses. Is there a minimum number of prescriptions required to utilise the Medication Management Service?

People taking five or more regular medications tend to benefit most from our Medication Management Service.

Delivery

Where do you ship to?

PillDrop delivers anywhere you are in New Zealand.

We do not ship internationally.

What medications do you deliver?

As a full-service pharmacy, we deliver most medications - from prescription medications and controlled drugs, to over-the-counter medications. This can include creams, liquids and inhalers and fridge items like insulin.

Your daily medications
We sort your daily medications into packets by time of day. Each packet is designed to open easily, and is printed with the time, day, and medications inside. 
 
As needed medications
We deliver as-needed prescriptions or anything you prefer in a bottle along with your PillSachets. If you prefer all your medications in bottles, please let us know and we can do that too.
 
Other prescription items
We can include items that come in other forms, like inhalers, eye drops, and creams. 
 
Refrigerated items
We package refrigerated medications appropriately and expedite these shipments to ensure it arrives to you in timely manner.

Vitamins and over-the-counter medications (OTCs)
You can get vitamins and OTCs with or without a prescription. Your doctor can send us prescriptions for OTCs along with the rest of your medications. You can also order them directly from our website or call us on 0800-745-537 to place a phone order.

How soon can I get my delivery?

Depending on urgency, we offer same day delivery depending on where you live. Generally, your package will arrive overnight. Rural addresses will take 2-3 more days.

What is your delivery schedule?

Within Auckland

We deliver your medicines 7 days a week. Our delivery schedules are as follows:

Monday to Friday: 10am-6pm

Saturday and Sunday: 1pm-4pm

Cut-off times for same-day delivery are:

Completed orders received before 2pm are delivered between 2pm-6pm.

Completed orders received after 2pm are delivered next day.

Rest of New Zealand

Overnight courier. Rural addresses take 2-3 days.

You can also schedule delivery a month in advance

Shipment tracking information

Once your medication is on its way to you, you’ll receive an email notification to let you know that they’re on their way, along with a tracking number for your shipment. Clicking on the tracking number in the email will take you to the shipment’s tracking page. This page displays the current status of your shipment and its progress.

Emergency and interim medication orders

We always want you to have the medication you need. If you need a new prescription urgently, call us at 0800-745-537 to let us know and we’ll send your order straight away. Otherwise, depending on urgency, we can include it on your next scheduled shipment.
If you’re not sure about the urgency of starting a medication, our pharmacists are here to give you advise. Please call us on 0800-745-537. 
If you need a temporary medication, like an antibiotic, we recommend filling at a retail pharmacy so you can start taking it immediately.

Can I include multiple people in a single delivery?

Yes, you can include your family members. This includes your partner and children under 18 living in the same address.

Can I have my medication delivered to my place of work?

Yes, of course.

Can I cancel my order?

We package your order promptly as we aim for same-day delivery. Once we have processed your prescriptions, you will not be able to cancel the order.

My address has changed, can you deliver to my new address?

Yes of course. It is very important to let us know of any change of address. This will ensure that your medicines will arrive to you on time.

We deliver anywhere you are in New Zealand.

How much is the delivery cost?

Delivery is free nationwide for orders of 2 or more prescription items.

Pill Sachets

What are the Pill Sachets like?

Your medication is packaged in a roll of easy tear, waterproof and food safe Pill Sachets.

They are clearly printed with your name, names of each medicine, date and time of when your medicines need to be taken.

How much does this cost?

We provide this service and packaging to our customers free of charge.

How many days of supply do I receive in my Pill Sachets?

Depending on your needs, we can supply weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

As a default, we provide 28 days’ supply of medication at a time, you will receive the next lot of supply within five days before you finish the current roll. We will let you know when your prescription is due to be renewed with your doctor.

For controlled drugs class B- By law, we can only supply a maximum of 10 days at a time.

What can go into Pill Sachets?

All your tablet and capsule medication, including vitamins. We exclude medication that is in liquid or powder form, or those that require refrigeration (like insulin, for example). If you require any of these, we package them appropriately and include them in the same delivery.

How many different types of medications do I need to be taking to go on the Pill Sachets?

We can sort your medication by dosage if you are taking at least 4 regular medicines. Research shows that people taking five or more regular medications tend to benefit most from our Pill Sachets.

I need my tablet cut in half, can you do that?

Absolutely, we can halve your tablets for you. There is no extra charge for this service.

I have “as needed” meds

All “as needed” medications will be packed separately from your Pill Sachets. They will be packed in a bottle or blister.

I prefer my pills to be packed in a bottle, is that ok?

Absolutely! We can pack your medications the same way as any other pharmacies, you just need to let us know when we call you to discuss your medications.

Sustainability

What materials are my medications packaged in?

Most of the packaging we use is recyclable. Your empty Pill Sachets can be recycled at your nearest soft plastic collection site at your supermarket. The paper boxes and foil blister sheets that we have unpacked are all recycled.

Quality Assurance

All prescription medications are dispensed by a New Zealand Registered Pharmacist.

Our pharmacists ensure that the medications you have been prescribed are free from interactions. They review your entire medication list for possible drug interaction issues.

Our Pill Sachets are packed by a robotic dispensing machine to ensure that only correct medication for the right patients are dispensed. Before your medicines are allowed to leave our premises, each single sachet is checked by our pharmacist for safety and accuracy.

Privacy and Security

We only collect information for the purpose of dispensing medication in a safe way. We do not use this information for any other purposes.

Our cloud-based software is developed in accordance with guidelines set by the Ministry of Health for the secure storage of health information.

Payments

For partially funded or non-funded medications and over the counter medicines.

We accept credit cards and Account to Account bank to bank transfers.

Credit Card Information

Your credit card and bank account information is secure every time you make an order with us. We do not store or save your credit card information. All credit card data is transmitted securely over SSL directly to Windcave, our PCI compliant payment provider
